Lanza District

Lanza is the newest district extending towards the south beyond the little valley of Rio Ribòsc.

Starting from Via Diaz it expanded rapidly in the post WWII period, also along the new Viale Degasperi, and in more recent times along Via Ruatti and even Via Lanza, creating a  residential area with a modern, extensive layout.

The built up area is regular and scattered in nature and terminates close to the Rio Lanza,  where there used to be a mill driven by the stream. The nearby apple warehouse terminates the inhabited area. This district is not particularly characteristic and is essentially residential in nature serving to enable the expansion and demographic growth of the town during the period of maximum demand for new housing. At the same time it played an important role in encouraging depopulation of the old historic centres.
