This small settlement is on the ancient road arriving from Rolla and Ponte Alto, leading on towards the fortifications of Castel Cles, also connecting to the road from Piazza Granda to Val di Sole.
The nerve centre is the junction with the road that descends from Pez, where the church stands on a partly man-made mound. Traces were found here of a Lombard settlement, and some very old buildings (XV century) suggest its role as guard station despite the essentially rural nature of the facade also seen in the courtyard facing the lake, which remains in very good condition.
